MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
Monday, January 29, 2007


The Old Lyme Zoning Commission held a Special Meeting on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of Memorial Town Hall.  Members present were Ted Kiritsis (Chairman), Jane Marsh (Secretary), Jane Cable, and Howard Tooker (Alternate).   Also present was Ann Brown, Zoning Enforcement Officer.

1.      Regulation Rewrite

Memorandum #4, December 26, 2006, Sections 1 and 2.

Section 2.5.2c – Okay.

Section 2.6 – The Zoning Commission does not want to classify streets or restrict uses to particular types of streets.

Memorandum #7, January 19, 2007 Section 3

Farm – Any tract of land for which the Principal Use is dairying or the raising of agricultural products, forest products, livestock or poultry, and any uses accessory thereto, commercial propagation and growing of flowers, plants nursery stock and berries when combined with on-site sales to the general public, commercial greenhouses and boarding stables, but excluding:  Commercial kennel; Commercial Cattery; Commercial Veterinary Hospitals; Cattle Feed Lots and Rendering Plants.

Yard Minimum Required, Front, Rear, Side –   Leave current definitions.  After the word Yard, please add (the minimum unoccupied space).

Memorandum #5, January 19, 2007, Section 4

4.9 – Line two, after “keeping of livestock or poultry,” add “when such livestock or poultry is confined to the property boundaries.”

4.13 – 4.14 – Sue to send Storm Water Ordinance to Attorney Branse and Tom Metcalf and contact Tom to determine what, if anything, he needs to complete this review.

4.15 – Leave as written.

5.9 WF-20 – Yacht Clubs by Special Exception.

5.11.2 – Leave as written; policy decision.

Allow Houses of Worship, Museums or other facilities to which a non-profit educational facility would typically be accessory in commercial zones.

Funeral Homes – Leave as written.

Section 5.12, LI-80 – Leave as written.

A motion was made by Jane Marsh, seconded by Jane Cable and voted unanimously to adjourn at 8:50 p.m.
